Words are Powerful

I have not the ability to speak or write elegently, though I long to share the thoughts in my head. My thoughts sometime come with strong feelings, so most often the safest place for my thoughts to be are in writing, speaking has in it an element of speed, which may cause my thoughts to be spoken with out thought. As I have learned, words spoken in haste and with strong feeling influence may be harmful even distructive. I should be one who speaks truth, but if the truth I speak is surounded by harshness and reaction, if it is not gental and thoughtful, indeed the truth may be spoken, but it may not be heard, or taken to heart. This is why it is said of “the reckless tongue”, “ It pierces like swords” Proverbs 12:18. Should I than be silent? Yes I think I should if I can not be wise in the things I say, if I do not think about what I say before I say it I should be silent.

Proverbs 12

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Good people obtain favor from the Lord,
but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.

No one can be established through wickedness,
but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown,
but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

The plans of the righteous are just,
but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.

The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood,
but the speech of the upright rescues them.

The wicked are overthrown and are no more,
but the house of the righteous stands firm.

A person is praised according to their prudence,
and one with a warped mind is despised.

Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant
than pretend to be somebody and have no food.

The righteous care for the needs of their animals,
but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.

Those who work their land will have abundant food,
but those who chase fantasies have no sense.

The wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers,
but the root of the righteous endures.

Evildoers are trapped by their sinful talk,
and so the innocent escape trouble.

From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things,
and the work of their hands brings them reward.

The way of fools seems right to them,
but the wise listen to advice.

Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult.

An honest witness tells the truth,
but a false witness tells lies.

The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.

Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy.

No harm overtakes the righteous,
but the wicked have their fill of trouble.

The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in people who are trustworthy.

The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves,
but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.

Diligent hands will rule,
but laziness ends in forced labor.

Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up.

The righteous choose their friends carefully,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

The lazy do not roast any game,
but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.

In the way of righteousness there is life;
    along that path is immortality.

Brick Wall

Oh coffee, today you are not doing much to help with the heavy eye lids threatening to ruin any chance of being productive. For days now I haven't been able to shake this brick wall of my body. I think I need a jack hammer anyone got one? If so I could use a hand pulverizing some brick.

Beautiful Family!

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, Because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.             Philemon 1: 4-7 This past weekend, I had a taste of what I know in my heart Our God has in mind for us as his creation, a taste of something good. My beautiful family, Oh how rich I feel after being in fellowship with them younger or older they may be. I feel full, and yet filled with longing too, a longing for the day when we will be made new in every way. As I think of our time this weekend together, I realize in my heart that there were so many things about the time that were not perfect, many dynamics of family that have a...

Working hard resting well.

It is a blessed day, when one doesn’t have to be woken up by an alarm. The best feeling is the one where you slowly stir out of the dream and gain awareness of the place where you are. Your eyes have not yet let in the first light of the day and you lay there taking in an awaken passé of breathing. The best feeling is knowing that you don’t have to get out of bed at a rush and you don’t have to rush to the bathroom or rush to take a shower or get dressed. The best part of a day off is when you’ve worked hard the two previous days, and therefore are even more grateful to go slow and take in a day of your own speed.
