Tybee Island

Friday May 7th 2010

Good evening salty sea smell, today I and my fellow travelers made our way to your shore where we ran into the south side beach. We are staying on the island of Tybee George, Where, we will be staying for 7 days. We drove in about 7:30 pm. Sleep has now come to visit after a long day of driving.

Today, we went to the beach brought a blue umbrella, and spent time hanging out on the beach. I read, and also got a bit burnt. The tide was way low this morning and there were lots of shells, and jelly fish all over where the water had left. My house mate got stung once, and she said it hurt pretty well, but soon passed. Despite, it seems all the sleep I’m getting, I am still really tired. Maybe the sun is making me sleepy. Today we rented bikes and road for a really long time.

We spent another day riding our bikes all around the Island. The marshes here are so beautiful and they have very thick grasses. The pine trees are large, and tower into the sky. Some times they are so many, their needles blanket the place where they are. The smell of pine is strong and good. As we have been here the pattern has been to play on the beach or ride about the island in the morning. Come home for lunch take a rest, and then hit the bikes again to take to the beach. On this day though we headed out to ride to a new part of the beach and then went to a few souvenir shops, after that we decided to eat at a sea side restaurant called spank’s. It was nice to just sit up on the patio and take in the sea and eat sea food. After lunch we biked home and took our usual quite and rest time. After which we packed up dinner into a cooler bag, and biked to the big pear. We walked to the end of it which seemed to me to be half a mile across too the end. It comes out past the waves more into the ocean. We ate our dinner and watched the fisher men fish. After finishing up we stood and watched the dolphins play, the pelicans too. We laughed as we watched the Pelicans dive for there food into the water. They were so graceful and sure of their attach posture.

Today, we road out on our bikes early, and found the part of the beach where the sandy dunes hide the beach from view until you hike past them. The waves were bigger today, and there were less Jelly fish in the water. More people were swimming and there were less people on the beach it’s self. We played a game of beach bocce, and built a sea grass beach fort. I took a long walk on the sand and found the bathroom near the middle of the hike, which was a good thing sense I was about ready to pee in my pants. I hiked back to where we were, and sat and listened to the waves for about 45 min. longer We packed up then and came back to our little beach house stead. Lunch was good, and I kept hearing critters in the bushes around the house. On a few occasions I saw what they were some mice, a snake, and some birds.

The Truth of the Matter.

How had I come to believe, that the deep things of my heart and mind were not important? Who told me they didn’t care about the things I was feeling or thinking about? The truth of the matter was, that no one actually said I don’t care about what you think or feel, they just never bothered to ask. Never being asked is another way to let someone know that they are not valued. In response to some of the most important people in my life not bothering to pursue my young heart and mind, I believed I had nothing to offer or give that would be of any value to anyone else. I believed I was stupid. I heard it over and over in my heart and head with out a second of doubt of its truth. Not until my twenty sixth year did the truth that I believed about myself reveal it’s self as a lie. There were six of us who met each week, five younger women and our leader, a woman the five of us had approached to ask if she would be willing to let us learn from her and be mentored and guided ...

Panicky Branch.

Hebrews 2:14-18 NIV Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death---that is, the devil--- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Oh me of little faith, at least that is how I feel when I read scripture that remind me of the great work God has done. The question that comes to mind is how, if I believe that these things are true, should my life look, or how do I live? Things I'm sure of, first that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life, that I ...

Wisdom is a women. Proverbs 8

When I first read Proverbs 8, I was so exited.  I love the fact that wisdom is called a she.  How beautifull she is too.  I long to understand her more. Proverbs 8 Wisdom's Call 1 Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? 2 On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; 3 beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud: 4 "To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. 5 You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding. 6 Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. 7 My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. 8 All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. 9 To the discerning all of them are right; they are faultless to those who have knowledge. 10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, 11 for wisdom is more precious ...
