I'm just one person, and not only that I am a self absorbed Flawed Person, how can this person make a difference in this world of self absorbed flawed people? "It seems a hopeless business. " (Mr. Bennett said that in Jane Austen's pride and prejudice)

God has promised that he will never leave us or for sake us,he has said that nothing is able to separate us from his love. I have heard it said of God that he did not show up, or he did show up. But how can that be a true statement if he has said that he would never leave us or forsake us, that his presence is constant?

This morning, I sat at the kitchen table, with my journal and the Bible that's on my smart phone, the words of my God, written by the hands of the people he created. Those people who Chose to step away from and choose to step away from his constant presence. I copied by hand the words of Isaiah 40: 22 into my journal so that it would be a bit more impressed upon my heart And mind.

Then I stopped everything to pray,to remember that he is always present, And to come before him with a heart that is Wearied, because I every day forget to remember to show up. Yup me, I don't stop to show up with God! I do my best to make a difference in this Flawed world by myself and I end up dropping the ball, missing the mark.

After I stopped to pray, my heart and mind stepped into the presence of God,in his presence there were things I could see, because he helped me to remember him, He helped me to focus my view on himself. That is when this person flawed though I am, is able to make a difference in this messy world.

If we try and live our lives apart from God our sins will soon over take us. The lie that this world wants to tell us is that we are ok with out God. There are people in this world, who from our perspective are good, and they have all their ducks in a row, they are always nice to everyone, and they have amazing self-confidence and the perfect job. They love their perfect job and that provides them with just the right amount of finical stability. They are fit and they take care of them selves, and the environment. They have a great relationship with their significant other, and with their kids. In our perspective, our sinful view, they have it all, and all with out God. Unfortunately our perspective isn't the one that counts. We cannot see we are blinded by the sin that we are a part of. Our perspective is not the one, which at the end of this life will count for eternity. I guess though that if you don't believe in an eternity, in a life beyond this one then it doesn...

Sunday Morning Notes

John 16 "we will never walk alone" -"don't worry I'm going to send the spirit  the spirit" He is going the convict the world of sin. Not us.  -the spirit gives us personal assurance that we are a child of God a seal of our redemption in Him. - the spirit helps us in our weakness because we don't even know how to pray.  -the spirit produces fruit in our lives. the gifts of the spirit are for edification of others.  • stop living like orphans • the spirit is working in you • we witness but the spirit convinces  • the spirit gives us eyes of faith • the spirit provides guidance when confused • walk, dance, and run in the spirit

September 14, 2015 "Good bye summer"

It's morning, I'm on the front porch with coffee and jounal on the table next to me. The sky is blue today there aren't any clouds, that I am able to see.  The air is cool and it smells like autumn to me, already the trees have started their yearly decorating of the lawn.  There are orange yellow and brown leaves scattered about the grass that now has lost a little bit of it's dark green luster.   This time of the year is my favorite, I'm pretty sure I say it every year.  I always manage to write it at least here on this blog.  For some reason it is one of the most romantic parts of the year for me. It's that way to me because, it's full of color, full of change, full of reminders that God does amazing things with us even though we are fallen, even though we are still in our sinful self.  So today, even though it's not technically autumn yet, I say good bye to summer, and I thank God for the work of his beautiful death on a tree to make us new in Him. ...
