February 7th Saturday

We can't always give up on the job or the work or the relationship because it's hard or because it's not challenging enough or not exciting enough. Some times there are times to walk away but some times we have to press on we have to make an effort we have to show up and learn how to be better. In those times we must bind ourselves to Our mighty awesome gracious God because he will be our strength and stamina our help in times when we feel like giving up.

It's cold outside and when I was younger, it never bothered me much, but lately, I like it less. I also find myself wanting to just stay in my nice warm cosy house. It's warm inside and on days when the sun shines my favorite thing to do in the winter is to sit next to a sunny window in the house with a book, and a good cup of coffee of course. Ahhh a taste of the good things to come I guess. 

It all passes away.

This heaven and earth seems as if it will pass away.  Even Revelation seems to say that it will  Revelation 21:1 NIV [1] Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. The first heaven and the first earth will pass away.  Christians I've noticed look at scripture like this and deside that the earth and all that's in it are not worth our care or consern. It's all going to pass away so why bother. Maybe that's not what they think but it feels like that sometimes.  Personally I tend to forget that this heaven and earth are never going to pass away. Yesterday though as I was rereading Revelation 21 I was reminded.  As I sat and thought about that I felt a little sad. I felt sad because this first heaven and earth is passing away because of sin and it wasn't supposed to be like this.
